Whilst Jobeda and Rahena were visiting Bangladesh in 2017 they witnessed first hand, the poverty and day-to-day struggles endured by the local people. At the time Jobeda was suffering from a terminal illness. Having had no children of her own and seeing the harsh reality of giving birth in such an isolated area she was determined to create a lasting legacy. Her sister Rahena assured Jobeda of her continuing support and the idea of creating a Foundation was formed.

In late 2017 the foundation was setup to help assist families in and around the Sylhet area. Sadly Jobeda passed away in April 2020. Rahena is now even more committed to keep her sisters legacy alive.

The Foundation is a registered UK charity overseen by the CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation).

THE FOUNDATIONS CORE MISSION IS TO ACHIEVE THE FOLLOWING OBJECTIVES:

OBJECTIVE #1:

Advance education through the provision of supplementary education classes for young people up to the age of 16.

OBJECTIVE #2:

Provide an infrastructure whereby residents, local authorities, voluntary and other groups can all work towards a common goal of advancing education and providing facilities and assistance, to help improve the quality of life for the residents.

This includes supporting local residents in their endeavor to find and retain employment and to promote social inclusion to individuals to help them integrate into society.

OBJECTIVE #3:

Our long term goal is to establish a maternity clinic in Gulapgoij to provide emergency gynecology and obstetrics care services to the local women who live in the community. Due to the rural location, women are regularly unable to access health services at the time it is needed.

OUR CORE VALUES AND
HOW YOU CAN ASSIST.

Our foundation endeavors to help relieve poverty, sickness and distress by providing education, advice, information, support and translation services. This benefits the residents when dealing with health, housing, education and employment.

We achieve this by promoting literacy skills to enable communication, basic health and safety training, parenting programmes and assisting in health awareness.

HOW CAN YOU ASSIST?
All donations are gratefully received.
We have a dedicated and passionate team on the ground in Gulapgoij who help manage and ensure that any funds received are directed to the correct areas and issues.
